Hi Everyone,
I had a brilliant night last night, in the sea side town called Lo Pagan. We don't have many late nights, except for very special things like the fireworks. Well, last night was very special cos there was another procesion, but this one started really late, at 10 o'clock in the night!
We got to Lo Pagan early so we checked where the church was. Then we went for a walk around the town.
Can you see the time on the church tower?
I was very exciteded when we got to town, cos there was a fair!
All theflashing lights were so fanteddytastic!
When we got back to the church, the band was waiting for the procesion to start.
At about quarter to ten, the band started playing. Lots of men came out of the church carrying a huge gold box with carved pictures all around it.
Mr.P said it was so big and heavy it would take 40 men to carry it around the town. Can you see the flowers? There were hundreds of red and white roses all over the box.
When the music stopped a man started talking in Spanish, just like on Palm Sunday. This time, when he stopped talking, someone jingled a bell and the band started to play. Then, the men carrying the box followed the band and the man who talked Spanish followed the box and we all followed him.
They had a life size statue of Jesus on the cross on the top of the box, so it looked massive going down the street.
We could walk on the roads cos the police men had stopped the traffic. Can you see the green traffic light?
We followed the procesion into town and then we walked back to the car along the sea front. We saw some whacky looking trees on our way back. I think this one looks like a crazy hair do.
Can you see the moon? It only looks little on the picture but it looked huge over the sea.
Bye for now,
