Hi Everyone,
we are having such a brilliant time in our gorgeous Spanish villa on the La Torre Golf Resort near Murcia. It's an utterly phenomennomenal place and I'll tell you more about it later, but now I want to tell you about our road trip adventure from Bilbao to La Torre.
we are having such a brilliant time in our gorgeous Spanish villa on the La Torre Golf Resort near Murcia. It's an utterly phenomennomenal place and I'll tell you more about it later, but now I want to tell you about our road trip adventure from Bilbao to La Torre.
Having sailed 720 miles on our fabulous ship, we got to Bilbao at half past six in the morning, but the captain told us we have to pretend it's half past seven, cos the Spanish people think it is. So we went down loads and loads of stairs to The Car Deck, where we had parked our car when we got on in Portsmouth.
When we drove off the ferry, we went through Bilbao and passed a very funny looking building which has a very funny name. It's a famous museum and it's called 'The Guggenheim'! Isn't it amazing?
We were soon out of town and on the open road, with 500 miles to go, but the weather was looking good and Mr. P said we should be there before it gets dark.
We went really high over the mountains and the higher we went, the colder it got. Mrs. C laughed when the temperature got down to 1 degree and said, 'We've come a thousand miles to sunny Spain and it's colder than Wales'.
Some of the mountains were so high we couldn't get over them, so the nice Spanish people had made tunnels so we could go through.
I liked going through the tunnels. Some of them were really long and Charlie was a bit scared, but I told her funny stories, so she was OK.
When we were about half way, Charlie and me started to get a bit hungry. So we had a look on the map to find somewhere nice to eat.
We were very excited when we found that there were Mc Donald's in Spain. When we got there, we were even more excited at what we could see in the car park. It was so, so, so coooooooooooool! A real Mc Donald's four wheel drive pick up truck. OK, so Charlie wasn't as pleased as me, but it was so awesome I had to have a go.
Then things got a bit awkward, cos I got stuck trying to climb onto the truck. Then they got even worse, cos Charlie was very brave and tried to help me, but she got stuck too. I was busy trying to think of a clever plan to get out out of our predicament when Charlie spotted Mrs. C and called for HELP!
Mrs.C was very kind and rescued us but I did feel very silly indeed. Anyway, we were soon all full and back on our way.
As we travelled along, I saw something else that was pretty cool. Some one had put huge black models of bulls in the fields. Can you see the one behind me in the picture? It's not easy to see cos the sun is shining.
This is a better one out the window behind Charlie. Can you see it?
After nine hours on the road, we saw the signs for Murcia and we knew we'd be at our new home soon. Mr.P was very happy, cos the Sat Nav thingy had started working, so he didn't have to try and find the right roads around the City.
By time we got to the Villa, it was starting to get dark, but it still looked beautiful, even in the dark.
We had arrived safe in our new home, after travelling about one and a half thousand miles. We were all tired, but I agree with Mr. P, 'It was worth it.'
Gosh!
What a long blog.
But it was a long trip!
Bye for now,
Tiddy x
