The Bridge on La Manga!

Hi Everyone,

I told you I'd be back soon, and I am. Did you guess that it was a special bridge we found on La Manga?
I think you did, cos my clue was so good.
In fact, there are two bridges and they are so so sooooo different.

We crossed the really posh bridge first. It was a big bridge with a special tower by the side. Can you see the spiral stairs for the man to get up? The man in the tower controlled the bridge and he could open it up so that boats could go through.This was a very nice bridge, but I think the next bridge was fanteddytastic!

I think this is the most 'Humpy' hump back bridge in the world.

It was so steep! This bridge was smaller and older, but instead of opening to let boats through, they just made it as high as they could. The view off the top was brill.

Charlie said she thought this bridge was really pretty and it was her favourite too.

Mrs.C said it was like driving up a wall. We were very excited driving over the top!

 

I'm a well travelled teddy and I've been over lots of bridges, but this is my 'Very Teddy Bestest' bridge so far.

Well, I've got to go now, cos Charlie wants to get her competition ready for tomorrow. She said tomorrow is a very special day and she's going to blog a super duper competition, with a super duper prize. Ooooh, I'm so excited. Tiddy goes to the end of La Manga!

Hi Everyone,

we've been on a fanteddytastic adventure to a very special bit of Sunny Spain. The place is called La Manga and it's on a thin bit of land that sticks out 19 Km into the Mediterranean Sea. Mr.P said that bits of land like this are called Peninsulas. I like  words like peninsula, I think they are funny.


We had a great time and there's loads of things to tell you about, but today I want to show you the end of the peninsula.

I know it looks a bit empty, but Mr.P said that the exciting thing was being at the end. I think he's right, cos I was very excited!

It's not all empty. There's loads of houses and some of them are very near to the end.

Someone has started building one house very near to the end. Mr.P said it's going to be appartments. I'd love to have a go of the crane!

I'd like an appartment on the end of the peninsula, cos the the views are brill! Mrs.C and Charlie were looking at the houses too, and Mrs.C saw one she liked.

This isn't the first time the La Manga peninsula has been on the blog, but it is the first time we've been there. Can you guess how? Look in this picture of me in the boat. Can you see the buildings by the sky, right out at sea? That's it! That's La Manga.The water I'm sailing on has got a nice name. It's called Mar Menor.

Well, I've got to go now, but I'll be back soon to tell you about the house Mrs.C liked and the special thing we found on the way to the end of the peninsula. Can you guess what it was? Here's a clue. We had to go over it to get there!

Tiddy and The Travelodge Teddies.

Hi Everyone,

we've been on an adventure back in Britain.


I was very exciteded to see the Travelodge Teddies on the telly adverts, so I went to find them.



We had to fly from San Javier Airport . Mrs.C hired a car in Stanstead Airport, so we could get to lots of Travelodges. It was really cold in Britain and I helped Mr.P get the ice off the car window.

It made me shiver, but I like helping. We only had four days to hunt for the Teddies. I searched in Great Yarmouth by the sea side, and Edmonton, by London.

Then, I stopped at Reading Services, by the M4 Motorway and at Caerphilly, by the Castle in Wales. On our way back to the airport, we stayed at Cheshunt Travelodge, by Mr Rupert Murdochs big building (not Rupert the Bear). 

Four days, five Travelodges, over six hundred miles of driving, but no Travelodge Teddies!



I'm going to keep looking, cos I want to get their autograph. I think Charlie and me would be really good on telly adverts. Maybe I should send an email to Lenny Henry and offer to help him with Premier Inn, cos that's where we usually stay.

Even More Stuff They Grow Here!

Hi Everyone,

I know I forget a lot of things, but I haven't forgot that there is more stuff to tell you about, growing in the fields around La Torre.

Did you have a guess at what's growing in these fields?



It's Lettuce!

That's right.They grow millions of Lettuce here and Mr.C can buy 4 for 1 Euro in San Javier Market which is really cheap.

They also grow tons of Broccolli and loads of Artichokes.

I was very surprised to see how much food they grow here. There's lot's of sun, but not very much rain and you need water for growing things. The Spanish farmers are very clever, cos they put hundreds of miles of pipe along every row in every field and water all the plants every day.

Can you see the pipes? Mr.P told me a really cool word for getting water to plants, it's called IRRIGATION!

Things I Forgot!

Hi Everyone,

I know Christmas is gone and everyone is back to school and work, but there's three Christmas things I forgot to tell you! I love Christmas and I love blogging, so I don't mind forgetting, cos I get to blog some more.


The first thing I forgot to tell you, was about a cool picture I took of Charlie.

She was so excited, cos the big poster had the Three Kings going to ToysRus! We told you they are more famous than Santa in Spain!





The next thing I forgot to tell you about, was Mrs.C's Christmas present off Mr. P. I think it's the most absolutely fanteddytastic money box in the world!

 It looks just like the Lucky Cats we saw when we were in China. That's so cool, but it get's even cooler when Mrs.C puts money in. It says Meow, Meow, Meow!

Charlie says I like 'Lucky Cat' cos she looks a bit like my favourite celebrity, 'Hello Kitty'.

 I don't think she's right. Do you?

Anyway, what was the last thing I forgot. Umm... Oh, I remember. It's The Kings again! We told you all about our cake, but I forgot to tell you about the other totally tasty treats we had.



Mrs.C gave us three chocolate kings, the same as I got for Charlie at Christmas, and Mr.P gave us a sack of sweet candy coal!

Well I think that's all the things I forgot, unless there's some more that I haven't remembered yet.

Eating The Kings Cake!

Hi Everyone,



Watching out for Mr.J and Mrs.H


I know Charlie told you all the interesting things about The Three Kings and our super scrumptious special cake. Now I want to tell you three more brilliant things.







1. Our Super Scrumptious Special Cake had two surprises inside. There was the Bean and a model of a King.

2. The Bean was the booby prize and the king was the real prize. Guess who got the King? ME! Guess who got The Bean? Mr.P!



Charlie said she thought both prizes were very nice and told Mr.P that she would plant his bean for him and see what grows. I don't think she wanted Mr.P to feel sad, Charlie's always very nice like that.

We didn't eat all the cake. We had a bit of help from China Ted who was glad to be down off the Christmas Tree at last. Mr.P also invited our new friends Mr.J and Mrs.H over to help us.



Oh, I nearly forgot the third brilliant thing.

3. It tasted FANTEDDYTASTIC!

An exciting day!

Charlie here!

Today is a very exciting day for all the children here in Spain. Yesterday, the 3 King's arrived, bringing gifts for them. This morning, they woke to find their gifts. I bet they were as excited as Tiddy and I on the 25th December, when we got our gifts.

To celebrate, we bought a cake called a Roscion de Rayes. It is a special cake and it's name means King's Ring. It has a very pretty box.

Here we are with the cake. Can you see the pretty crown that came with the cake. It is golden coloured and looks really posh!

Tiddy thought he would look good in the crown. Doesn't he look handsome! He would make a good king.




The cake has a special 'bean' in it. If you get the piece with the bean, you get to be king or queen for the day. I hope Tiddy get's it. It would make him soooo happy.

Tiddy wondered what it would feel like to be a cake in a box. He's such a funny bear! Would you buy him if he was a cake for sale?
